We took our first Christmas mini sessions with Bruna Rico in Toronto this year with our little blended family of 3.
Our holiday photography session was set in the LX Studio in Toronto. It was so beautifully decorated in a minimalist (read: non-cheesy!) way so that our photos would remain fairly timeless.
Of course, I can always count on Bruna Rico (portrait, branding, wedding & boudoir photographer extraordinaire) to make us look amazing!
Hopefully we can capture ourselves year after year, in the holiday spirit, if Bruna continues offering these mini sessions! But she’s pretty in demand, so we’ll just have to keep our fingers crossed 😉
The most fun about this Christmas mini shoot was styling ourselves (again- in a somewhat festive, but stylish manner). But, let’s be frank- it was me styling the small bunch!
Zara made it particularly easy, as they happened to have a billowy navy plaid dress (with metallic thread to add a bit of pizzazz lol) which matched perfectly to little M’s navy bow tie.
Since the set was mostly off whites, beige & forest green, pairing navy as our primary color of choice with what we already had in our wardrobe was easy. I mean, you can’t go wrong with mixing with the likes of dark blue with indigo denim, khaki pants and khaki tops with the occasional pop of white.
If you’re looking for more family mini sessions styling inspiration for the holidays, fret not! Because if striped holiday pjs is more your thing, a minimalist family portrait backdrop will look equally as good.
I saw some of the results from Bruna’s various holiday Christmas mini sessions this season (so, same set). And whether the family was wearing more neutral outfits like ours, candy-cane pajamas or ugly sweaters, it all looked fantastic. It’s all about your personal family style, after all.
